Meteorologist Tim Root

Tim Root Chief Meteorologist of 101-5 The Beat and owner of WeatherWatch Service has been forecasting for over 40 years now.  Root started back in 1971 with a college radio station in Fairfield, Connecticut when he was only 15 years old.  Then, he went on to a much larger station in Bridgeport, Connecticut (WEZN 100 FM) to forecast for the number one station in Southern Connecticut at the time.  Tim was voted in 1982 as the best weather broadcaster in the state of Connecticut in a publication called The Connecticut Magazine.  He also was the official Meteorologist for the Americans Cup back in the late 90’s.  On top of all that, Tim Root was the morning weather producer and consulting Meteorologist for CBS Television in San Diego.  His experience and accomplishments lead to one thing…. accuracy.  A forecast on 101-5 The Beat is more than just a disk jockey reading Google weather reports word for word.  At 101-5 The Beat, we aim to provide the best forecast for Greenville County that you can get.  Tim reports hourly to keep you up to date.
