2 women arrested after pills, pot, stolen Glock found, deputies say

RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A pair of Maxton women were arrested after a search of their home turned up drugs, a stolen pistol and other items, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Wednesday search at a home in the 500 block of Mt. Zion Road uncovered 50 Percocet pills, 39 Xanax pills, eight grams of a substance deputies suspect is cocaine, 150 grams of marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies, several EBT cards and stolen Glock pistol, deputies said.

Shavon Mona Maynor, 25, and Ashley Renee Locklear, 29, are charged with:

  • trafficking opiates
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Prescription drug drop box promotes year round disposal

In Greenville County alone, people bring home roughly five million prescriptions per year.

Unfortunately, some of those unused medications end up in the trash, toilet, or wrong hands.

On Friday, April 29th, Project Rx: A River Remedy will unveil a drop-box at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The box will be available year-round for people to safely dispose pills — no questions asked.

The drop-box is free, secure, and anonymous.  Organizers encourage everyone to clean out their drawers or cabinets and bring in anything that is unwanted or expired.

“Many people aren’t aware of the dangers of flushing your old medication, but it has a significant impact on our water quality,” said ReWa Public Relations Coordinator, Ashley Rinehart.
