2 women arrested after pills, pot, stolen Glock found, deputies say

RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A pair of Maxton women were arrested after a search of their home turned up drugs, a stolen pistol and other items, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Wednesday search at a home in the 500 block of Mt. Zion Road uncovered 50 Percocet pills, 39 Xanax pills, eight grams of a substance deputies suspect is cocaine, 150 grams of marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies, several EBT cards and stolen Glock pistol, deputies said.

Shavon Mona Maynor, 25, and Ashley Renee Locklear, 29, are charged with:

  • trafficking opiates
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance
  • possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

2 more students charged in shooting at Southside HS

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Two more students at Southside High School have been charged in connection with the accidental shooting on May 13th.

A 16-year-old student was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm on School Property after deputies say the student had multiple opportunities to turn the gun in to authorities but did not.

Another 16-year-old was arrested after illegally selling the gun used in the shooting while off of school campus, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Student arrested for bringing gun to Boiling Springs HS

BOILING SPRINGS, SC (WSPA) – A student at Boiling Springs High School was arrested after a gun was found in his truck.

18-year-old Noah Paul Bailey was arrested and charged with Carrying a Weapon on School Property and has been expelled from the school.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says the school got an anonymous phone call that a student was seen with a gun inside his truck and the caller was afraid that he may still have it at the school. School officials talk bus safety after toy gun found in Greenville Co.

Students on a Greenville County school bus got quite the scare Wednesday on the ride home.

They had to be evacuated after a toy air soft gun was found on the bus.

The Taylors Elementary students were taken to the closest school, with deputies waiting to search the bus.

The school district says the student who brought the toy may not even face charges.

Officials say when it comes to punishments for situations like this, it all depends on three main things: the students age, the way the weapon was presented, and the level of disruption the incident caused.

Toddler dies after taking mom’s gun, shooting himself in chest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 2-year-old was fatally shot Wednesday night on the northwest side of Indianapolis, according to IMPD.

Police were called to the 5200 block of Alameda Road around 9:15 p.m.

Firefighters on scene worked desperately to revive the young boy, but they were not successful.

He was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Police said the young child grabbed the gun from his mother’s purse off the kitchen counter after she momentarily stepped away, accidentally shooting himself.

The mother is cooperating with police. She was initially questioned by detectives in the incident, but has since been released.
