Help find person of interest in Cross Hill stabbing

CROSS HILL, SC (WSPA) – A man in Cross Hill was stabbed multiple times, according to the Laurens Co. Sheriff’s Office.

It happened on Shealy Circle on Jan. 24.

They say the victim is in his mid-20’s and was stabbed during an argument.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition.

Deputies are looking for James Morgan Hill, 32, as a person of interest.

Man stabbed couple with Samurai sword after meeting to sell items

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD)- A man who is accused of attacking a woman and her estranged husband with a “samurai sword” was arrested today.

27-year-old John Michael Juba was arrested today by the U.S. Marshal service on the Isle of Palms.

On December 5th 2016 a woman and her estranged husband arranged to meet a man to buy a few items through the ‘Offer Up’ app. The couple came to the home of the seller on Berkshire Drive where they purchased a printer then returned later on in the evening to also purchase some tools. When they returned to the home the second time there was a man present with a “katana like sword” and without any provocation the man attacked the female victim and her estranged husband.

Pickens store robbery suspect arrested in Hendersonville

PICKENS (WSPA) – A man wanted for robbing a store in Pickens was found and arrested in Hendersonville.

Pickens Police say Richard Milton Moore robbed the Blue Ridge Produce store on Ann Street on Monday morning. Investigators say Moore pointed a gun at an employee, demanded money and left the store with the cash in a white Honda.

Police say the car and gun Moore used were stolen in Spartanburg County.

Investigators say they learned Moore was in the Hendersonville area. Pickens Police, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshall service determined where they would have a chance at finding him.

Police say Moore was arrested Thursday night near a McDonalds restaurant in Hendersonville.

Trampoline damaged again after Greer PD helps family replace it

GREER, S.C. (WSPA) – A trampoline that was damaged earlier this month, and then replaced by officers, has been damaged again, according to the Greer Police Department.

The trampoline belongs to a family who uses it for physical therapy.

The trampoline was cut earlier this month and officers from the Greer Police Department decided to help.

They gathered money and helped replace it this weekend.

But someone cut the trampoline again, police say.

1 hurt after shooting in Anderson Co., suspect at large

ANDERSON CO, S.C. (WSPA) – There has been a shooting at M&L Mobile Home Supplies on Hwy 28 Bypass, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

A call came in at 7:07 p.m. Sunday.

Two men got into a fight in the parking lot, and the shooting occurred, the sheriff’s office says.

The weapon used was described as a small handgun.

One person has been taken to AnMedl, according to the sheriff’s office.

Their condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect fled on foot. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, the sheriff’s office says.

A K-9 Tracking Team has been called to help search for the suspect.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

2 men arrested after allegedly transporting drugs in sub sandwich

SCIOTO CO., OH (WCMH) – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested two men in Scioto County after finding cocaine and heroin in a Subway sandwich.

The Patrol says troopers stopped a car on Oct. 13 for following too closely and headlight violations on U.S. 23 southbound.

The troopers discovered more than 10 grams of suspected cocaine and more than 10 grams of suspected heroin, worth about $2,870.

The driver, William Smith Jr., 47, of Huntington, WV, and passenger Kevin White, 34, of Detroit, were arrested.

The Patrol says both were charged with possession of heroin and trafficking in drugs, both second-degree felonies and possession of cocaine and schedule II substance, both third-degree felonies.

Man attacked landlord with samurai sword, deputies say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Garden Home man was arrested on Sunday after authorities say he attacked his landlord with a samurai sword.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called at 7:11 p.m. on Saturday evening to a disturbance in the 7600 block of SW 67th Avenue in Garden Home. It was reported that Gregory Barsaloux, 56, had used a “samurai type” sword in an attempt to injure his landlord, authorities said.

When deputies arrived, they were able to secure the landlord and found him unharmed.

Authorities said they then tried to speak with Barsaloux, but he armed himself with a rifle and started making threats to harm deputies.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office evacuated neighbors.

Officer dispatched to wrong home charged with shooting

OCOEE, Fla. (AP) – A central Florida police officer has been indicted after authorities say he shot into a home after being dispatched to the wrong address.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that suspended Ocoee police officer Carlos Anglero was charged Thursday with unlawfully shooting into an occupied home.

Authorities say Anglero and officer Stephanie Roberts responded to a domestic disturbance last Feb. 6, but the dispatcher had mistyped the street name and sent them to a home about a half a mile away. When the confused resident answered the door with a gun, authorities say, the officers opened fire. No injuries were reported.

Roberts was fired after an internal investigation found she lied about clocking overtime pay.

Republican HQ in NC firebombed in what GOP calls ‘hate crime’

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Republican Party headquarters in Orange County was vandalized and firebombed overnight, Hillsborough Police said Sunday afternoon.


The building at 347 Ja-Max Drive was hit with graffiti and “flammable material” in a bottle was thrown through a window starting a fire inside, police said in an email.

Graffiti that said “Nazi Republicans leave town or else” was spray painted in black paint on the side of a building next to the Republican headquarters, according to police.

That graffiti, which was also at 353 Ja-Max Drive, included a swastika and was discovered before 9 a.m. by a nearby business owner, officials said.

Mom arrested for letting 7-year-old drive car

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) – A Florida mother has been charged with child neglect after instructing her 7-year-old son to drive her car on a public street through their neighborhood in suburban Orlando while she filmed him.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that 34-year-old Kwaniqua Glenn was arrested Thursday. She also is charged with allowing an unauthorized person to drive a motor vehicle.

Sheriff’s office investigators say Glenn told her son to get behind the wheel and then filmed him from the passenger seat as he drove about a third of a mile at an average speed of 28 miles per hour. The sheriff’s office said she posted the video on social media where a school resource deputy saw it.

No one was injured. Glenn couldn’t be reached for comment.
